Issoire, urban decoration project
The arrival of the Critérium du Dauphiné Libéré in the city of Issoire was one of the triggers of this beautiful project of city decoration at once artistic, cultural and sporting. Led by Mayor Bertrand Barraud and his municipal team, it aims to beautify the outskirts of the city and illustrate the dynamism of the town to Issoirians and its many visitors.
This urban beautification project initially included 4 original works reproduced on dibond in order to exhibit them durably within the walls.
The chosen location is located at the crossroads of 2 of the main axes of the city, Avenue Pierre Mendès France and Avenue Kennedy, an almost obligatory passage to access Issoire from the north along the wall of the Albert Buisson stadium.
Through my paintings, Bertrand Barraud, mayor of the city of Issoire, a town of 14,600 inhabitants, wanted to identify the major events of the city.
A big thank you to the entire team of the town hall of Issoire for their confidence in the realization of this beautiful artistic project.

Wings and Volcanoes Festival
The engines start in unison in a deafening din. Equipped with their helmets, the technicians adjust a few settings before takeoff. One behind the other, France’s patrol planes, set off on the runway to reach Issoire. The ballet will begin soon. A distant roar betrays the arrival of the Patrol. Sunglasses, hands in visors facing the sky, the public scans the sky in search of a clue. In squadron, it flies over the aerodrome of Issoire.
An aerobatic festival begins with a tricolor plume released by alphajets splitting the sky at full speed.
Issoire, where man and machine meet the sky.

The Trans'Yssoirienne
The start is given, the cars have abandoned the space to make way for the riders of this new edition of the Trans’Yssoirienne and its 28 obstacles. Civilians and military run side by side as they approach the1st obstacles. Truck tires cover the bitumen, impossible to avoid. Jumping from one tire to another, walking on it, everyone will choose their technique before joining the end of the world.
In front of the runners, a major event, perhaps the most emblematic of this race, 3 containers block the road of the participants. While some quickly fly over these iron giants, others less skilled need support. A beautiful chain of solidarity is organized spontaneously to allow everyone to overcome these obstacles and continue the race. With the strength of their arms or legs, participants pass this test before crossing the Couze and a gruelling climb on a rope ladder.
Alone we go faster, together we go further
Proverbe africain
The Trans’Yssoirienne is an obstacle course organized by the 28th Transmission Regiment of Issoire and the municipality. It takes place every year in April. More information on the Trans’Yssoirienne website. An excellent sporting moment to share in a good mood.

A gift for Colonel Ferrer....
June 30, 2021 : After 2 years in Issoire, Colonel Frédéric Ferrer leaves the 28th Signal Regiment to join his new Parisian assignment under the gaze of General Roland, one of his predecessors.
The municipality of Issoire and Mayor Bertrand Barraud offered the painting “Help to move forward” to Colonel Ferrer to thank him for his dedication and support to the municipality.
... exhibited at the Museum of the 28th Signal Regiment
This painting completed the collection of works of art and objects gathered by the various staffs who officiated in Issoire. He will find in particular the paintings that I made for General Rolland entitled “28th RT” and the one made for Colonel Didot entitled “Daguet”.
The Critérium du Dauphiné Libéré
No spectacle can be compared to the one that the Tour de France offers every summer to the populations of our beautiful provinces. The Tour de France is a crusade, a pilgrimage, a teaching, an example.

The Critérium du Dauphiné Libéré
The bikes are out this May 30, 2021 for this 1ststage of the critérium du Dauphiné Libéré 2021 edition under the spring sun of Auvergne.
In a loop of about 180 km, the stars of the peloton compete on the roads in preparation for the Tour de France. Escaped for 15 kilometers, Brent Van Moer enters the Avenue Pierre Mendès France 3 km from the finish. He rises on his pedals for a final acceleration as a dancer. No question of letting go, a look back, he calmly approaches this last climb and the final turn at the intersection of Kennedy Avenue, the peloton is behind. In front of him, the 4 paintings reproduced on dibond and in particular “Honor and fervor”, specially created on the occasion of the criterium.
He crossed the finish line with his arms raised to the sky to the applause of the audience. A first professional victory for this young cyclist of 23 years under the eyes of Bernard Thévenet, the director of the race. He will wear the yellow jersey tomorrow, the 1stof his career.
Behind him, the peloton approaches, the sprinters accelerate and elbow in the last meters to free up space and cross the line. Always a fabulous show… while waiting for the return of the Tour de France in Issoire.

The Auvergne challenge
All to the ball! The one who runs fast is the strongest. Shrimp with socks too big, shorts where you put 2 in them, floating swimsuits, helmet and mouthguard .... And crampons. The first pair. The one that counts and that purists keep all their lives in a shoe box.

The Auvergne challenge
An essential date in the preparation of the ASM season, the Auvergne challenge has been hosting professional rugby teams in Arverne since 2005. The LOU, the Paloise section, the Canadian national team, Oyonnax, Castres, Brive and the Irish province of Connach met the ASM in Issoire on this occasion.
If since 2005, the USI (Union sportive Issoirienne) organizes this event in its mythical Jacques Lavédrine Stadium, the club has also been structured and developed around this proximity with the tenants of the Michelin Stadium. The success of a club tirelessly depends on detection and support towards the highest level. If the ASM makes the young Auvergne dream, it is in the rugby schools of the territory that the young shoots realize their 1stranges and where the vocations germinate. They develop the passion for rugby above all, the pleasure of playing and the sense of sharing before hoping to aim higher. For an Auvergne rugby player, the ASM is the Holy Grail, a club carried by an unwavering public, a club that makes you cry, cry with joy, cry with grief as its history is tormented in its quest for Brennus.
Meanwhile, USI has ensured its role as a training club without batting an eyelid, allowing young players to reach the top level (Romain Martial, Christophe Samson or Alexandre Fisher). Since 2019, the USI has reached a milestone and reached for the 1sttime the federal 1 after a valiantly acquired title of Champion of France. The club’s squad consists of players from the club’s training, others are former ASM hopefuls and a few recruits gathered around a project and an idea of rugby. Like yellow and blue, purple and black has earned its place in the hearts of rugby fans and an ASM – USI meeting, the 2 best teams of Puy-de-Dôme, is somewhere like a meeting at the top, the ideal oval that will be, who knows, the poster of a next Challenge Auvergne.
1st interdepartmental competition of the Salers cow
Nothing is better than agriculture, nothing is more beautiful, nothing is more worthy of a free man. It is more than sufficient for the needs of our life.

1st interdepartmental competition of the Salers cow
On August 28, 2021, the city of Issoire welcomes Salers cow breeders from 5 departments. Livestock, one of the flagship sectors of French agricultural excellence, is a profession of passion, sacrifice that thirty farmers came to share with the public.
Accessible and available, they presented their exciting profession and their most beautiful representatives of the mythical Salers breed, a rustic and solid cow producing little milk but of excellent nutritional and taste quality. This mahogany-colored cow with a thick coat is distinguished by its beautiful and large horns and well-tempered character. It is totally adapted to mountain climates.
The concept of a city in the countryside
The starting point of this work was the complementarity between urban and rural, too often opposed. The work of composition, essential to the restitution, was to reinforce the geographical location of Issoire, a medium-sized city in the heart of rurality. A successful bet with this work “A city in the countryside”.
